At the latest Parish Council meeting, there was a lengthy discussion regarding the proposed new solar farm which will cover a 200 acre area of farmland around Turnham Lane.
During the discussion, it became evident that many residents of the village might be unaware of the proposals. Because of this, the Parish Council are hoping this post will help explain how to view the plans and the process to comment on them should you wish.
Firstly...to view the plans, you will need to visit North Yorkshire Council's planning portal. The following link will take you directly to the application for the solar farm...
To access the plans, you will need to click on 'Documents', then select 'View Associated Documents'...
A list of files will appear over several pages, with the earliest 'plans' appearing on the later pages...there are lots to look at, so please put some time aside to view them.
The Parish Council have already submitted their comments.
Should you wish to officially comment on the plans, please head to the 'Comments' tab, then you will need to register (if you are not registered already).
Once registered, you can log in and complete the form with your comments regarding the proposals.
All comments must be received by North Yorkshire Council by 28th August, so please don't delay.
Please spread the word and get as many people to submit comments as possible.
